Frequently asked questions

Who can use Reset?

Reset is for anyone who wants to understand and manage their gambling. Whether you want to quit, cut back or learn more about why you gamble, the Reset app will help you get there.

Who developed Reset?

Reset was developed by clinical researchers and the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation using the best available evidence and a clinical trial. An evaluation of this trial has shown that it helps people quit or reduce their gambling.

How does Reset work?

Reset is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Motivational Interviewing techniques, clinically proven to help people understand and manage their gambling.

Reset is an effective, self-directed program available 24/7 that can be used on its own or as a tool to support therapeutic counselling.

Reset contains five modules, each with practical advice and insights to help you achieve your goals – from managing urges to maintaining change. Activities take between two and fifteen minutes to complete.

The more time and effort you put into reset, the more likely you will achieve your goals.

How should I use Reset?

Sign up for an account and create your profile. Then, start by completing all the activities in the ‘Getting started’ module to help Reset build a set of recommended activities just for you.

Follow your recommended program of activities in ‘My program’ or choose your own activities from any of the six interactive modules according to what you want to explore or achieve.

Complete activities in your own time and set your own goals. Reset is designed to meet your needs.

Can I access other forms of support?
